Rainsoft, Water Test

You know the importance of hydration, but that doesn’t make it easier to drink more water. Nevertheless, you need a certain amount daily to stay healthy (and alive). If you don’t like the taste of your water, you may need a professional water test to see if contaminants are present. We will send out one of our trained water treatment professionals to assess your home’s water system with a complimentary, in-home analysis of your water. If you don’t like the taste of hard water, then it’s time to equip your home with a new water softener system.

How Much Water Should You Drink?

For years, the eight glass a day rule was our bread and butter. However, eight glasses may not be a sufficient fluid intake for everyone, like individuals who exercise. So, how much water should you actually be drinking? Answers seem to change depending on who you turn to, but the U.S. National Academics of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine recommend approximately 15.5 cups of fluids for men and 11.5 cups of fluids for women daily. These numbers factor in the water you lose daily, but again, you may need to modify that amount depending on your environment and your lifestyle.

Without adequate hydration, your body will experience several uncomfortable symptoms related to dehydration. These include:

  • Headache
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue
  • Low blood pressure

What can you do to ensure you’re getting enough water? Just follow these smart tips.

Buy a RainSoft Water Filtration System

Not everyone likes the taste of hard water. If you fall into this category, you can benefit from one of RainSoft’s many water conditioning products. Coastal Energy Water and Air was the first RainSoft distributor in South Florida, delivering solutions since 1966. Our team will send someone out to resolve your hard water problem and improve the taste and clarity of your water. We are a proud dealer of RainSoft products, offering the best drinking water and water treatment products/services in the state.

Track Your Water Intake

There are many free apps that will track your daily water intake. The benefit of tracking your water is being able to see when you fall behind. When you know you’re behind, you can adjust accordingly to get back on track. In addition to apps, you can buy a tracking device that does everything an app does with additional features. For example, you can place your tracker on your water bottle, and it can tell you how much water you have had.

Add Flavor to Your Water Pitcher

Filling a water pitcher is a great way to be consistent with your water intake and track how much you have been drinking. It also makes fresh, cold water readily available. If you don’t like the “taste” of water, you can improve it by adding a bit of flavor. Choose from your favorite herbs, vegetables, and fruits. Some common additions are:

  • Cucumber
  • Celery
  • Ginger
  • Lemons and limes
  • Strawberries
  • Grapefruit
  • Mint
  • Lavender
  • Basil

Instead of using one flavor, have some fun and try a variety that blends well together, such as cucumber slices and fresh mint leaves, or raspberries and cucumbers.

Drink After Your Bathroom Breaks

You know the saying, “bad habits are difficult to break?” So are good habits. A healthy person can use the bathroom between four and ten times a day, making it one of your most common daily activities. Start drinking water once you get out of the bathroom to develop a habit. In no time, your mind will be conditioned to reach for a bottle of water every time you leave the bathroom. Furthermore, you create the perfect cycle: the more you drink, the more you need to use the bathroom. The more you use the bathroom, the more you drink.

Set a Daily Goal

Once you know how much fluid you need, set a SMART goal. In other words, make it specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timebound. Always keep a full water bottle near you to help you achieve your goal. Make sure it is full to the brim with cold water that is effectively conditioned by a RainSoft water softener system. Take it with you everywhere you go, so you never have difficulty meeting your goal.

We can all use a push in the right direction when it comes to drinking more water. These strategies are simple but effective ways of doing this.
